Our team just came back from the largest natural products food conference and trade show, Natural Products Expo West & Engredea. It continues to be the leading trade show in the natural, organic and healthy products industry, attracting over 80,000 industry professionals and 3,100 exhibits to the newly expanded Anaheim Convention Center this year. Consumer demand for organic has grown by double-digits nearly every year since the 1990s and this event continues to expand the organic section to meet that demand. If you’ve never been to this huge conference, this video gives you an idea of what a week at Expo West is like.

Attendees come to see what new products their favorite brands are rolling out, and to attend panels, workshops, mixers and press events. We spent time on the floor with all of the Only Organic supporting brands and we’ve pulled some of our favorite products and campaigns from the event.

Stonyfield

At the Stonyfield booth, we were invited to “Make Earth Cool Again.” Stonyfield armed attendees with tools and resources to get out the vote for this year’s midterm elections, with the goal of encouraging consumers to vote for candidates who will help protect the environment. Stonyfield’s “voting” booths let attendees select a postage-paid postcard to mail to friends and family across the country, which will connect them to online educational resources about the environmental issues at stake this November – and where the candidates stand on them. Stonyfield encouraged attendees to pledge onsite to vote for candidates who will protect the environment and challenge recent Environmental Protection Agency decisions, such as its dissolving of the office that funds research on the effects of chemical exposures on children. Nature’s Path

If you happened to be looking for the Nature’s Path booth, all you had to do was look for the enormous tree in the main hall. And Nature’s Path featured a new product that mixes granola and cereal, to make a delicious Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter cereal. Learn more about the new cereal here.

Organic Valley

Next up we visited our friends at Organic Valley. A new grassmilk kids’ yogurt was the highlight of their booth. Its Grassmilk Kids Yogurt is made with whole milk from 100 percent grass-fed cows and is now available in kid-friendly packaging. Visit Organic Valley online here.

Late July

Late July was celebrating its 15-year anniversary and rolling out its summer flavors. We enjoyed tasting not only the chips but also the organic salsa. We overheard a couple trying the nacho flavored chips – they said they are like Doritos nacho cheese chips, but better. We agree: Late July has the best flavor profile when it comes to organic chips.

Annie’s Homegrown

Annie’s Homegrown had a wonderful booth and highlighted its new gluten-free Cinnabunnies Cereal.

Our favorite part of the Annie’s booth was the display of organic soil. The demonstration highlighted soil health and its relationship to our food choices. To learn more about the new Annie’s Homegrown products or campaigns, click here.

Orgain

Orgain had a beautiful booth and some great new products. There are two we think you’ll especially enjoy. First, Organic SLIM™ Weight Loss Powder, which has 20 grams of organic plant-based protein, and whole food metabolism boosters including matcha tea, green tea, moringa, and cinnamon. It includes 2.5 billion probiotics and 6 grams of organic fiber.

Second, we think you’ll enjoy Organic Superfoods™ Powder, which has 50 organic superfoods in every scoop. With organic greens, organic fruits and veggies, and organic sprouts – plus 5 billion probiotics – enjoy all-in-one super nutrition! Learn more about Orgain’s new products here.

Back To The Roots

Congratulations to Back To The Roots for winning a NEXTY gold award at the Hall of Legends Awards celebration this year. Back To The Roots continues to innovate and excite attendees with its ideas and products. Learn more about it here.

Overall, it was an excellent Expo and we were happy to see our supporting organic brands thriving with new products, innovations, and educational campaigns to inspire the future of our food supply! If you were at the Natural Products Expo and have a favorite product, leave us a comment or connect with us on social media. The next Natural Products Expo is in Baltimore in September – see you there!
