To expand organic’s market potential, reach and positive impact in the face of increased competition, consumer confusion and political pushback, the Organic Trade Association welcomes industry veteran Matt Dillon to its leadership team as co-CEO with Tom Chapman, who has led the trade group since April 2022. The Organic Trade Association is pleased to announce it has received more than a million dollars in funding from the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Market Access Program to promote U.S. organic products around the world in 2024. Natural Grocers and its team of nutritional health coaches are kicking off the new year with “21 Days to a Healthier You,” a free three-class series, Jan. 22 to Feb. 11, focused on eating like a regenivore. The program seeks to offer training and tools to help customers reach their health goals, says the Lakewood, Colo.-based grocer. Organic produce is poised to play a syndrome, infertility, birth defects, and more. And while more research is needed to truly understand the long-term impact, shoppers are leaning in, and organic food is set to become more popular than ever. A measure is in the works to support organic dairy farmers on a national level. Ag lawmakers have introduced the Organic Dairy Data Collection Act, which is an effort for the USDA to enhance data collection and to better understand the costs associated with producing organic milk.
